Emergency use authorization to protect against NWS
Boehringer Ingelheim announces the FDA has issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the use of Ivomec® (ivermectin) 1% Injection for the prevention of infestations caused by New World screwworm (NWS) in cattle.
Under the EUA, Ivomec is authorized for the prevention of infestations caused by NWS larvae when administered within 24 hours of birth, at the time of castration or at the appearance of a wound in cattle, except female dairy cattle producing milk for human consumption and calves that will be processed for veal. Do not treat cattle within 35 days of slaughter.
Based on available scientific evidence, FDA determined there is no adequate, approved and available alternative for the prevention of NWS in cattle at these critical intervention points.
For more information, a fact sheet is available here. More information about NWS and the unified federal response is available at www.screwworm.gov.
Flexible watering solution
Ritchie introduces an all-climate solution for cattle operations that need a flexible watering solution for use in various pen configurations. The OmniMaster 4 puts the proven performance and producer-favorite features of the OmniMaster 8 in a smaller footprint to reliably water up to 180 beef cattle or 90 dairy cows.
Its rapid-refill high-pressure valve means both sides of the waterer are always full. The center-valve design gives more flexibility in pen setup. A large drain plug and recessed drain allow for fast and complete draining, and the popular flip-open top cover gives easy access to the valve and float.
The stainless wraparound heated trough keeps water flowing even on the coldest days, while a fully insulated casing boosts energy efficiency and durability.
- Drinking height: 24 inches (in.)
- Capacity: 27.5 gallons
- Dimensions: 54 in. x 24 in. x 30 in.
- Power requirements: 548 watts
The OmniMaster 4 is backed by Ritchie’s 10-year warranty.
Connected intelligence for feedlots
Ever.Ag announces the launch of Feedlot IQ, an intelligent, connected feedlot management platform powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and built specifically for cattle feedlot operations.
Designed to help feedyards improve consistency; support animal health; and make earlier, more informed decisions, Feedlot IQ uses advanced AI and connected data to give operators a clearer understanding of what’s changing across the yard.
Feedlot IQ brings health, feed, performance, weather and financial data together into one unified view, turning the information feedlots already capture into practical, usable insight. The platform helps teams spot intake shifts, emerging health concerns and performance trends sooner, supporting more stable operational outcomes.
Developed in close collaboration with Production Animal Consultation (PAC), whose leadership in cattle research, diagnostic innovation, and feedlot team training has shaped modern animal-health practices, Feedlot IQ builds on the instincts and experience of the people who know cattle best. It gives managers, veterinarians and nutritionists shared visibility into what’s changing across the yard and helps support timely, defensible decisions that reinforce wellness, efficiency, and day-to-day consistency.
Feedlot IQ helps feedlots shift from reactive to more proactive management — supporting predictable gain, steadier performance, and earlier awareness of the factors that influence overall health and operations. By giving managers, veterinarians and nutritionists one shared view of the yard, the platform strengthens collaboration and supports more confident, aligned decision making.
Ag intelligence for farm management
FarmMind is an all-in-one platform to help growers of all sizes organize fields, analyze farm finances, track yield and return on investment (ROI), collaborate with teams and optimize operations with AI-powered insights.
FarmMind uses automatic organization to categorize field notes, receipts, recommendations and documents by crop, field or season into a clean folder tree. Use financial dashboards to analyze costs, yield, revenue, ROI and margins on a field-by-field basis. Compare across seasons and identify which fields are most profitable.
With field-by-field cost tracking, you can:
- track seed, fertilizer, chemical and labor costs per field;
- monitor equipment usage and fuel expenses;
- capture irrigation costs and water usage; and
- record land rent, taxes and insurance per field.
