Gizmos

This month’s edition of “Gizmos & Gadgets” features a Ceres Tag direct-to-satellite ear tag, an Alltech mycotoxin absorber product, a Valley Irrigation smart control panel and an all-electric lineup of John Deere Gator™ utility vehicles.

Direct-to-satellite, continuous-monitoring ear tag

Ceres Tag, the world’s first animal health intelligence platform, has signed a technology collaboration agreement with the University of Tennessee (UT). This partnership opens new opportunities to develop livestock phenotypes at scale, better understand rangeland use, and improve the resilience and efficiency of ag systems.

Leveraging Ceres Tag’s direct-to-satellite devices, which provide continuous monitoring of animal welfare, location and behavior, the collaboration will support UT research in agricultural systems, natural resource management and sustainability. By capturing detailed phenotypic and behavioral data, the partnership enables researchers and producers to make data-driven decisions that optimize herd genetics and rangeland management.

Ceres Tag will use the data to refine and develop its technology, ensuring practical tools are available for producers to manage herds, optimize grazing and improve genetic outcomes.

Smart pivot control panel for all equipment brands and ages

Valley Irrigation introduces the Icon+ Smart Panel, the newest addition to the innovative Icon family. The Icon+ Smart Panel offers growers the perfect balance of performance and affordability.
