“We understand the importance of quality genetics and what [they] can do for a cow herd,” Ryan Hopson of Hopson Angus says. “We approach every day with the commercial cattleman in mind, and base our breeding decisions around bulls we would want to go buy ourselves; [with] quality, longevity, and big-footed to go travel.”

The third-generation cattleman and his wife, Bree, manage the operation alongside Ryan’s grandfather, Charles Emmerich. The fourth generation is now growing up on the ranch, as Ryan and Bree have two young daughters, Sutton and Hensley. 

The Crescent, Okla., operation shows a commitment to raising Angus cattle that will perform across all segments of the industry, making mating decisions that prioritize functional maternal traits while also recognizing the broader demands of today’s market.
