Established in 2019, Bucksnort Ranch of McEwen, Tenn., continues to hone its focus on building a solid cow herd and then managing those cattle to reach their highest potential. Driving that goal forward are Bucksnort’s ideals for commercial females: maternal ability, consistency, longevity and quality.

The best interest of their customers is at the heart of their operation. 

“We cannot succeed if they don’t succeed,” says Jason Meadon, manager at Bucksnort. “We do not single-trait select. We raise cattle here that do several things the right way, because balance is key for us here at Bucksnort.”

Meadon says that preference for well-balanced cattle means raising bulls that will leave customers with daughters who make profitable cows, and bulls that will produce a set of steers that will “crack the scales on sale day.”
