Albrecht Ranch Angus and Penz Angus Ranch have partnered since 2012 to host the Albrecht-Penz President’s Day Bull and Female Angus Sale on the third Monday in February, where more than 220 bulls and 200 registered and commercial females are offered.
Tradition meets innovation at Albrecht Ranch Angus, where the Albrecht family works to serve commercial cattlemen with females that will work in any environment.
Originally from southern Utah, the Albrechts moved the operation to its current location in Wapanucka, Okla., in 2003.
Kelly and Laura Albrecht and their son, Jarrett, manage the operation with strict requirements for the cows.
“We try to raise really good females that will work in any environment,” Kelly says. “The right kind, big rib, easy-doing, easy-fleshing cows with good feet and legs.”

Penz Angus Ranch is a fourth-generation, maternal-focused seedstock cattle operation in Caddo, Okla., now guided by Jeff and Paula Penz and son Derek.
The Penz family believes the key to building a productive herd starts with the females. Their herd philosophy, “Great females produce great bulls,” drives the Penz family to “produce functional, fertile females that are productive and can adapt and thrive in many environments,” Jeff says.
The ranch takes a disciplined approach to herd improvement.
“We have had the opportunity to own some of the iconic cows in the breed along with elevating some of our own cows into the ET program here on the ranch,” he notes.
