Yeah, I’m going to brag a little.

What a week! As we are putting the bow on this issue, your Angus Beef Bulletin team is doing a little professional development at the Agricultural Media Summit in Saint Louis, Mo. It’s billed as the largest gathering of the ag industry’s top communicators — writers, editors, photographers, publishers, and communicators on the public relations and advertising side of the business.
Besides listening in on sessions to help us navigate the changing media landscape, we have opportunity to put our work up against that of our peers for a little friendly competition. It’s a wonderful way to learn from each other and celebrate some exceptional work.
Team Angus had a great showing yesterday, taking home the brass — 58 awards, with more potential awards today. We’ll take time to polish up the results and get you a list, but I’m especially proud of Lynsey McAnally’s first place win in the Podcast category for her interview with the Beaver County (Okla.) Stockyards team and the first-place win for the Female Foundations landing page designed by Leann Schleicher. Surpassed by a horse book, the Angus Journal® (second) and the Angus Beef Bulletin (honorable mention) took home two of the top three spots in the General Excellence: Publications category, and the Angus Beef Bulletin EXTRA took second in General Excellence: Newsletter.
While recognition by our peers is fulfilling, the true test is whether we help you make the most of the Angus genetics you’ve purchased. We love to have your feedback. Email us at abbeditorial@angus.org and tell us what stories are winners by your account.
