Over the past year, National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) members have embarked on a journey of growth, connection and leadership. From the LEAD Conference in Washington, D.C., to Raising the Bar in Lincoln, Nebraska, these transformative experiences were made possible through the generous support of the Angus Foundation and its dedicated donors.

Thanks to this support, NJAA members have the opportunity to travel across the country, build lasting friendships and explore diverse facets of agriculture, all united by their shared passion for Angus cattle and the NJAA.

“LEAD and Raising the Bar have been great opportunities for me to not only experience agriculture different from home but also become friends with Angus kids from around the country,” said NJAA member Brenlen Humpert. “Some of my closest friends, I met at Raising the Bar at Texas Tech and LEAD in Louisville, Kentucky.”

These leadership conferences are more than just events; they are experiences that challenge junior members to grow personally and professionally. Participants engage in workshops, hear from industry leaders and gain insight into agricultural practices beyond their own backyards. Whether it’s learning about policy in the nation’s capital or touring local farms and ranches, NJAA members leave with a deeper understanding of the cattle industry and their role within it.

Beyond leadership development, the Angus Foundation plays a vital role in supporting the academic goals of NJAA members. During the National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), more than $240,000 in scholarships were awarded, helping ease the financial burden of higher education and investing in the future of the beef industry.

“Receiving an Angus Foundation scholarship was incredibly meaningful to me,” said NJAA member Cailee Flood. “It has allowed me to pursue my education with greater focus while being connected to a strong network of people who share my passion and encourage my future in this industry.”

These scholarships not only provide financial relief but also serve as a vote of confidence in the potential of young leaders. Each award represents the belief that NJAA members will go on to make meaningful contributions to agriculture and their communities.

In addition to financial support and leadership opportunities, the NJAA emphasizes the power of gratitude. A simple thank-you note can leave a lasting impression, honoring the time, generosity and belief of those who invest in the next generation. Whether it’s a handwritten message or a thoughtful email, expressing appreciation is a core value that strengthens the NJAA community.

As we look ahead, the NJAA remains committed to cultivating strong leaders, connecting passionate young people and creating meaningful opportunities, all made possible by the Angus Foundation and its incredible supporters. The investments made today are shaping the future of our industry, one junior member at a time.
