Youth
Equipping young leaders with skill sets for success is a cornerstone for the Angus Foundation. Youth leadership conferences, scholarships and funding for the NJAA board of directors are all made possible with Foundation support.

NJAA scholarships
NJAA members at both the undergraduate and graduate level can apply for a variety of scholarships to support their education. Applications are submitted via AAA Login and are due May 1 each year.

The Commercial Cattlemen Scholarship is available to youth pursuing higher education who use Angus genetics in their commercial operations. Applications are due May 1.

Awards
The Angus Foundation supports a variety of awards which recognize Angus youth for outstanding achievements and involvement.
Recognizing Outstanding Young Leaders
The Jim Baldridge Outstanding Leadership Award recognizes a member of the National Junior Angus Association for exemplary leadership in the Angus breed and beyond. The recipient is announced annually at the National Junior Angus Show and receives a $5,000 academic scholarship.
Leadership
The Angus Foundation provides support for the NJAA’s Raising the Bar and Leaders Engaged in Angus Development (LEAD) conferences through the Angus Fund. These annual events provide opportunities for juniors to learn, network and develop as future industry leaders.
Leaders Engaged in Angus Development
The LEAD conference travels to a new state each year, exposing NJAA members to different sectors of the agriculture industry. While exploring the region, youth gain perspective on unique agricultural practices, explore potential career opportunities and enhance their leadership skills through activities and speakers.

At the Raising the Bar conference, NJAA members visit a university with a strong agriculture program to gain insight on the institution, helping prepare them to determine their future plans. Attendees also network with peers from around the country, participate in personal development workshops and visit industry-relevant attractions in the area.
