AMERICAN ANGUS ASSOCIATION - THE BUSINESS BREED

AUXILIARY NOTES

Cattle & Connections

Finding a path to lifelong involvement.

By Tonya Rae Theis, Auxiliary President

July 4, 2025

Summertime is here and with it comes hay season, getting cattle show-ready for county fairs and the National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) and of course the Fourth of July. It is impossible to live and work on a farm and not feel the connection of cattle and the freedoms that our country stands for.

I am honored to be the Auxiliary president, and hope that if I accomplish anything this year, it would be to encourage new members and help our juniors transition successfully into the adult association. It is my goal to help those choosing to continue to find a path to a lifelong relationship with both the American Angus Auxiliary and the American Angus Association.

As we move forward into the summer, take the time to enjoy the moments — a dripping ice cream cone, Certified Angus Beef® (CAB) burgers on the grill, late dinners after a long day’s work and the pride in the work that raising good Angus cattle takes.

As always, I and our American Angus Auxiliary board are here to help with any questions you might have. Please do not hesitate to reach out
