Greetings! It’s Alli Perry, your 2024-2025 National Junior Angus Foundation Director. The Angus Foundation is constantly striving to support and uphold the Angus legacy. Through scholarships and donations towards junior activities, the Angus Foundation helps to set each junior up for success.

Growing up, I attended the LEAD and Raising the Bar conferences as often as possible. These events allowed me to make connections and build relationships outside of the show ring. Having the opportunity to see livestock operations and agriculture across the country has helped me to gain a new perspective of our industry and set me up for success in my future.

When talking with Angus junior Lyle Perrier, he mentioned “The experiences I’ve gained and the relationships I’ve cultivated through Raising the Bar and LEAD, over the years are truly priceless. These opportunities have taught me how to be curious, to ask insightful questions and to never overlook an opportunity to learn something new.”

The experiences gained countless connections made from these trips would not have been possible without the endless support of the Angus Foundation and its donors.

The Foundation scholarship program is something that I’ve always admired about our association. The Angus breed puts the youth of our industry above all. The number of scholarships awarded each year is all thanks to the many donors who believe in and support the future of the NJAA.

I am currently a junior at Oklahoma State University where I am pursuing a degree in Animal Science. This would not have been possible without the support of the Angus Foundation. There are many students across the country that have similar experiences and are building success stories for themselves through opportunities made possible by the Foundation.

Lauren Phillips, a junior member from Iowa, spoke about how the Angus Foundation has impacted her. “Through the Angus foundation, I have been fortunate enough to receive scholarships and attend leadership conferences. The scholarships help support me while I attend Iowa State University, where I am currently studying Agricultural Communications. I will always be thankful for the Angus Foundation and what it has done for my development within the angus breed.”

The American Angus Foundation has helped to shape the NJAA and continues to strive to build leaders within the association and agriculture industry
