Northwest Regional Preview Junior Angus Show
The Northwest Regional Preview show will take place June 18-21, in Filer, Idaho.
GENERAL INFO
Entries must be received through the Showman app!
Early Registration and Ownership Deadline: May 20, 2026
Entry Fee:$35 per head
Last Chance Registration Deadline: June 1, 2026
Fee: $70 per head
Bedding: Tie-out straw & bedding is provided.
Health: Health certificates will be required for all out-of-state animals and will be checked at check-in.
Please see Idaho Beef Expo's Rules and Regulations on the Showman App as they can be different from the NJAA rules.
Please note all of the specific information for this show in this section. You will also need to review the “general rules” section as they apply to all the shows listed in this packet.
All applications for registration and transfer of ownership must be recorded in the sole name of the exhibitor by May 1, 2026. If you don’t have registration papers on newly purchased animals in your hands two weeks prior to the ownership/transfer deadline for a particular show, please contact the American Angus Association.

Friday Picnic Lunch at the Fairgrounds:
Donations encouraged (Picnic & Auction items defray the cost of the event. Everyone’s invited!)
Starting at noon on Friday, in the grassy area south of the barn. Cost for lunch is $10/plate for a great lunch! You can always bring more than you pre-paid for and just pay when you go through the line. The picnic helps with the costs of the event. Please invite family and friends to enjoy the picnic and the show!

Thursday, June 18
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Check-In
4:00 p.m. EXHIBITORS MUST BE CHECKED IN BY 4 P.M. IF NOT A $50 PER HEAD LATE FEE WILL APPLY!
4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Jackpot Steer Weigh-in
5:00 p.m. Exhibitor Meetings – required attendance.
5:30 pm. Possible Jr. Activity
Friday, June 19
8:30 a.m. Judging Contest Registration
10:00 a.m. Judging Contest (ABSOLUTELY no talking during the contest)
12:00 p.m. Picnic & Auction at the fairgrounds.
*One hour after the picnic & auction ends, we will start “NO FIT” Showmanship. Each exhibitor must show their own entered animal in showmanship. Breeding showmanship will occur youngest to oldest.
Breed Showmanship Order:
- Simmental
- Angus
- (AORB) All-Other-Registered Breeds
- Hereford
- Supreme Breeding Showmanship
- Jackpot Steers Showmanship
Breed Showmanship Finals
The top two from each breed will come back for the finals, except for Pee-Wee division. All breeds will be represented. Only the Champion and Reserve from each breed will come back for Supreme even if numerous breeds are won by same
individual.
After Supreme Breeding Showmanship is over, we will start the Jackpot Steer Showmanship.

- Hereford
- Supreme Show
- Jackpot Steers
Top two heifers, bulls, cow/calf pairs from each breed will come back to compete for Champion and Reserve Supreme.
