Let Your Breeding Records Work for You
What if your breeding records could do more for you?

Today, Breeding records fuel genetic evaluations and streamline data entry across multiple AAA Login features, including female transfers. These records are among the most foundational pieces of information kept for any herd. They not only document pedigrees and reproductive performance, but also play a critical role in herd management and genetic evaluation.
Today, these records can do more than sit in a notebook — they are integrated into multiple tools within AAA Login, helping streamline data submission and improve accuracy.
Why breeding records matter
Breeding records serve several purposes, from generating management reports to contributing to genetic evaluations. For example, the Heifer Pregnancy trait uses breeding records from heifers to predict the likelihood of a sire’s daughters becoming pregnant as first-calf heifers during a normal breeding season. Beyond genetic insights, these records power tools that simplify data submission.
Calving Calendar Report
One of the most useful features is the Calving Calendar Report (found under: Login > Reports > Dam Reports > Calving Calendar Report).
This report groups females by breeding season and year, and can be sorted by projected calving date or dam tag. It’s available as a PDF or Excel® file for easy sorting. If pregnancy-check records are submitted along with breeding records, the report will even indicate the most likely sire based on both sets of data.
Calving Book integration
Breeding records also make reporting calving events easier. In the Calving Book within AAA Login, selecting a breeding set — such as Spring 2025 — will automatically populate females bred during that season. When you report a calving event, if pregnancy-check records are included, the most likely sire will appear in the sire field. The sire can be adjusted if needed. The same functionality applies to the Calving/Weaning Data Submission page (found under: Login > Submit Data > AHIR/Performance > Calving Book or Calving/Weaning).
Breeding data on transfers
Most recently, breeding data has been integrated into the Transfers process (navigate to: Login > Submit Data > Transfer > Transfers).
If a female has breeding records that correspond with the sale date, those records will automatically populate in the Service section of the transfer page.
For example, if a female was exposed from April 15-June 30, 2025, and sold Oct. 30, 2025, her breeding records will autofill after you enter and tab out of the sale date. If the female is open, you’ll need to manually check that box before saving.
If no breeding records align with the sale date, meaning there are no breeding records that would align with her being pregnant at the time of sale, the service section will remain blank.
The bottom line
Submitting accurate and complete breeding records unlocks powerful tools in AAA Login — streamlining data entry, improving transfer accuracy and contributing to genetic evaluations like the Heifer Pregnancy expected progeny difference (EPD). Consistent data submission ensures you get the most out of these integrated features, saving time and streamlining data entry.
