AMERICAN ANGUS ASSOCIATION - THE BUSINESS BREED

Dr. Robert Totusek

Inducted 2025

Dr. Robert Totusek’s deep knowledge of the industry and his foresight for its future solidifies him as one of the greats in the cattle business. Known affectionately as Dr. Tot, the Oklahoma State University professor was a champion of the Department of Animal Science and its people. His ability to make each feel seen contributed to the vast impact he had as a livestock coach, department chair and alumni organizer.

There are many moments in Totusek’s career which can be tied to pivotal changes for the industry. One of the most notable is the selection of the 1969 national champion Angus bull in Chicago. A larger framed, growth bull which helped shift the type and kind being produced in the years to come. Whether judging or crafting symposium content, what made Totusek’s vision for the industry so impactful was his ability to galvanize others around ideas; leading with great conviction.
