Sauk Valley Angus was the Illinois Beef Association’s Beef Seedstock Producer of the Year in 2004, and the Beef Improvement Federation’s Seedstock Producer of the Year in 2006. An inaugural member of the Illinois Junior Angus Association, King was president of the Illinois Angus Association in 1996, a director of the American Angus Association and president in 2009.
