Hansen’s father, William Hansen, established Laudmere Angus herd in Dixon, Iowa, in 1931. Oliver served as Iowa’s chairman of the agricultural promotion board and held various leadership roles in the Eastern Iowa Angus Association. He helped initiate a Tri-County Livestock Judging Contest for youth and was inducted into ISU’s Agricultural Council Hall of Fame.
