A five-star general, 34th president of the United States and a former Kansas Angus breeder, Eisenhower and his wife, Mamie, purchased a 189-acre farm outside of Gettysburg, Pa., in 1950. He spent retirement as a successful farmer and Angus breeder. The farm now serves as a national park, located adjacent to the Gettysburg Battlefield.
