Formerly of Saint Anthony, N.D., Schaff developed his cowherd, Schaff’s Angus Ranch. He sold cattle into nearly every state and several foreign countries and, in the 1980s and 1990s, Schaff’s Angus Ranch nationally ranked in the top five in number of Pathfinder cows. A pioneer in performance testing and carcass evaluation, he began submitting AHIR records in 1972.
