Dr. Wayne “Doc” Smith first became involved in the Angus business in 1947 when he bought his first heifer as part of an FFA project. In 1979 he was named field man of the Missouri Angus Association and still is active in the position today. He is a strong supporter of junior programs and during the last 22 years, many junior Angus members in Missouri have become known as “Doc’s Kids.” Dock was inducted into the National Junior Angus Association Honorary Angus Foundation. He is a life member of the American Angus Association, American Veterinary Medical and Missouri Veterinary Medical associations.
