Bob Van Stavern

Bob Van Stavern, professor emeritus of animal science at the Ohio State University in Columbus, is an expert in the meat science field, and was involved in the development of Certified Angus Beef (CAB) LLC. He was instrumental in establishing the CAB carcass specifications that directly lead to high quality Certified Angus Beef® product. He is a recognized leader at Ohio State, both in the classroom and in the meat lab. During the past 20 years he has written seven books and numerous articles. In 1998, he received the Harry L. Rudnick Educator Award from the North American Meat Processors Association for his contributions to the meat industry.
