Pat Goggins, Billings, Mont., is an entrepreneur who has contributed to the livestock marketing and communication industries. He is president of Western Livestock Reporter, Inc., a corporation that includes two well-known livestock publications, Public Auction YardS (PAYS), Western Sale Management, Vermilion Ranch, other ranches and a real estate company. He bought the Western Livestock Reporter, which covers 12 western states in 1961, and in 1968 started Agri-News, a general agriculture publication. While working in advertising sales, he taught himself to be an auctioneer, and today is known as one of the premier auctioneer in the west. He has been an innovator in livestock marketing, using the video livestock auctions.
