He has been involved in the Angus business for 45 years. He was the first secretary and sale manager of the Dension Angus Association in Dension, Iowa. After moving west, he became the secretary and manager of the Western States Angus Association, until moving to join Jaynbee Angus, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, a herd established in 1941. Neumeyer served two terms as a director of the American Angus Association. He was instrumental in maintaining the Certified Angus Beef (CAB) Program in the mid 1980s when some board members thought the program should be abolished.
