He grew up on his family’s registered Angus farm near Jonesborough, Tenn. As director of performance programs for the American Angus Association, he oversees the Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR) program and the genetic evaluation program for the Angus Sire Evaluation Report. He has been instrumental in the development of the American Angus Association Centralized Ultrasound Processing (AAACUP), which allows Angus producers to obtain and use carcass EPDs from live animals. Before moving to the Association headquarters, in St. Joseph, Mo., he was a regional manager in the southeastern United States. He has lectured in more than39 states and numerous foreign countries.
