Russell D. Denowh

He and his father-in-law, Joe Gartner, established Gartner-Denowh Angus Ranch near Sidney, Mont., in 1955. The herd was among the first to enroll in the AHIR program and has produced genetics that have had major impact on herds in the United States, as well as worldwide. Denowh served two terms as president of the Montana Angus Association and received the 1996 Wayne Stevenson Memorial Award of Excellence.
