Born in Engield, Connecticut, and a graduate of the University of Connecticut, he is a serious breeder of performance cattle and promoted the use of AHIR records throughout the East as manager of Gibbet Hill Farm and Angus herd. He served two six year terms on the American Angus Association board of directors then was elected vice president and president.
