The matriarch of a four generation family of Angus breeders, she and her husband Jamie bought their first Angus in 1946. She and two sons run some 1,600 head of registered Angus cows and market 600 bulls a year. A charter member of the Montana Angus Auxiliary, she served as president of the American Angus Auxiliary in 1970. The national Auxiliary named her Distinguished Woman of the Year in 1986. She edited the Montana Angus News from 1967 into the early 1980s.
