A native of Glamas, Angus, Scotland, Edwards was herdsman at Iowa state for 42 years. Showed four International Livestock Exposition grand champion steers and three reserve grands, (all Angus) and some 20 International breeding cattle champions. His biggest influence was on the students who worked for and with him.
