Founded Hopley Farms, Inc., Atlantic, Iowa, in the 1920s and became a member of the American Angus Association. Developed one of the leading Angus herds in the nation in the 1930s. Was a leader in the Angus industry during and following the depression years, and served as president of the American Angus Association in 1935.
