James Lingle

Inducted 1983

Developed and managed the Wye Plantation herd in Queenstown, Maryland. Bred large-framed, productive fertile Angus cows starting in the 1930s. He inbred the cattle at Wye, imported bulls, kept extensive records on the cattle and individually tested them. He Pioneered modern day beef cattle performance testing.
