March 17, 2026

American Angus Association® members who would like to be engaged in the decision-making process which guides the future of the Association and the breed should take the time to check their voting eligibility ahead of the April 17, 2026 deadline. Meeting the annual voting eligibility requirements is the first step in the delegate election process held ahead of the Convention of Delegates.

According to Association bylaws, only eligible voting members can nominate, be nominated, vote, or be elected in the annual election of delegates. A member must meet all of the following requirements by 4:30 p.m. CDT on Friday, April 17, to be eligible:

  • Active life or regular member. Dues must be current on regular membership.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Registered at least one animal or completed at least $250 of business with the Association or Angus Genetics Inc. (AGI®) within the last 12 months – between April 20, 2025 and April 17, 2026.
  • Be current with all financial obligations to the American Angus Association and all its subsidiaries.

Members are encouraged to submit any necessary requirements by early April to allow for plenty of time for business to be processed.

Following the close of the voting eligibility period, eligible voting members will be able to nominate or be nominated as a delegate to the 143rd Convention of Delegates scheduled for Monday, Nov. 16, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, as part of Angus Convention.

Nominations will be open April 20 through June 19. Each eligible voting member is allowed to nominate one eligible voting member, who resides in the same state or district, including themselves. Candidates should be highly involved in the Angus business, willing to attend the meeting, and able to represent Angus breeders.

Nomination instructions and a unique PIN will be emailed to eligible voting members. Members without an email on file will receive instructions by mail. Delegate elections will be held in July.

Members can contact Member Services at 816-383-5100 or angus@angus.org with any questions, or reference the complete bylaws of the Association, including the applicable Section 3.6, in the Breeder’s Reference Guide

All members are invited to save the dates of the 2026 Angus Convention and 143rd Convention of Delegates. The Angus family will gather in Louisville, Kentucky, Nov. 13 - 16. This year’s event will be held in conjunction with the North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE). A tentative schedule of events is available here.
