AMERICAN ANGUS ASSOCIATION - THE BUSINESS BREED

Member Advisory: Fraudulent Email Activity

May 5, 2026

The American Angus Association® has been made aware of fraudulent emails being sent to members by individuals falsely representing Association employees or leadership. These messages may request billing updates or other account-related information. Please note: the American Angus Association will never conduct Association business from an email address that does not end in @angus.org.

While the Association and Information Services team have implemented safeguards that block the majority of fraudulent emails—including those attempting to impersonate an @angus.org address—email spoofing remains a risk, as anyone can create messages that appear to come from a trusted source.

If you believe you have received a suspicious email regarding your account, please contact the Association’s Member Services team at (816) 383-5100 or by emailing Angus@angus.org. We also encourage members to follow these email safety best practices:

  • Verify the sender’s email address. Association business will only be sent from an email address ending in @angus.org.
  • Exercise caution with financial requests. Even if an email appears to come from an @angus.org address, be especially careful if it involves payments, billing, or requests for account changes. When in doubt, contact the Association office to confirm its legitimacy.
