Juniors led Angus champions at the 2024 MAJAC
Junior Angus exhibitors led 172 entries at the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Junior Angus Classic (MAJAC) Regional Preview Show, March 8-10 in Harrisonburg, Va. Stephen Patton, Frankfort, Ind., evaluated the 70 owned females, 42 bred-and-owned females, 44 steers, nine bred-and-owned steers, five bred-and-owned bulls, two cow-calf pairs and 60 Angus-based crossbred steers.
Madison Stratton, Appomattox, Va., led the grand champion bred-and-owned bull. EGF Outlaw 1010 is an October 2022 son of PVF Blacklist 7077. He first won senior champion.
B & R Wrecker won the title of reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. David Bell, Nottingham, Pa., owns the March 2023 son of Hill Valley Reckoning 931. He first won junior champion.
Suter Clark, Gretna, Va., led the grand champion bred-and-owned female. Clarkboys Cassandra 3020 is a February 2023 daughter of KR Casino 6243. She earlier won junior champion.
Madison Stratton showed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. K & J CCW Lady 9172 is a September 2022 daughter of K C F Bennett Const G519. She first won senior champion.
Seldom Rest Cassandra 3009 won grand champion owned female after claiming junior champion – division 2. Mercedes Ferree, Sullivan, Ind., owns the January 2023 daughter of KR Casino 6243.
Alli Perry, Fayetteville, Tenn., showed the reserve grand champion owned female. SCC SCF Phyllis 328 is a February 2023 daughter of STAG Good Times 201 ET. She first won reserve junior champion – division 2.
AED Rita 037H won grand champion cow-calf pair. Allison Davis, Shelbyville, Tenn., owns the December 2020 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077. A September 2023 heifer calf sired by OHL Gunner 7263G completes the winning pair.
Adam McCauley, Cynthiana, Ky., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. McCauley Willow J14 is the December 2021 daughter of S A V Raindance 6848. A November 2023 bull calf sired by Conley Express 7211 is at side.
Ella Michael, Fishersville, Va., led the grand champion steer. SC ZMC Mary is a February 2023 son of PVF Marvel 9185.
Charlotte Holland, Laytonsville, Md., showed the reserve grand champion steer. Stone Wall Blackbird 605L is an April 2023 son of PVF Marvel 9185.
Troy Heath, Woodbine, Md., showed the grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Heaths Blaze 1023 is an April 2023 son of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838.
Suter Clark led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Clarkboys Copper Penny is a January 2023 son of Silveiras Forbes 8088.
