Angus Youth Parade Champions at the Iowa Junior Angus Preview Show
Iowa junior Angus members led 113 entries at the 2023 Iowa Junior Angus Preview Show, June 17 in Indianola, Iowa. Jake Wagner, Loveland, Colo., evaluated the 20 bred-and-owned females, 56 owned females, 10 bred-and-owned bulls, three cow-calf pairs, 15 registered steers and nine phenotype and genotype females before selecting champions.
Colburn Saras Dream 1389 was named supreme champion and grand champion owned female after first winning the senior champion. The October 2021 daughter of Conley No Limit is owned by Sara Sullivan, Dunlap, Iowa.
Hunters Proven Queen 246 claimed the reserve grand champion owned female title. Simon Thoreson, Knoxville, Iowa, owns the October 2022 daughter of BNWZ Dignity 8017 that first won senior calf champion.
Reserve supreme champion and grand champion bred-and-owned female honors went to Steenhard Greiman Barbara222. Mariah Steenhard, Mason City, Iowa, owns the April 2022 female sired by SCC SCH 24 Karat 838. She first won junior champion.
Collison Georgina 268 was selected as reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning junior champion. The April 2022 daughter of Collison Alpha 028 is owned by Madison Collison, Rockwell City, Iowa.
Cale Jensen, Plainfield, Iowa, led Jensen Lights Out 189 of FAF to grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors. The October 2021 son of DAJS Special Effects 044 first won senior champion.
SA Rich Spirit 219 claimed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Boyd Schroeder, Clarence, Iowa, owns the May 2022 bull sired by Schroeder Legacy 3400. He first won intermediate champion.
Jillian Moffitt, Colfax, Iowa, led the grand champion bred-and owned cow-calf pair. Moffitt Rosebud 2024 is the April 2020 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303. A February 2023 heifer calf sired by CCF Blacklist 043 completes the winning pair.
Mobleys Blackie M760 won reserve champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair for Kerrigan Mobley, Diagonal, Iowa. She is the February 2017 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. A March 2023 bull calf sired by Mobleys Weigh Up M072 is at side.
Dylan Bieber, Waukon, Iowa, led the grand champion owned cow-calf pair. Bieber’s Miss Next Up 3002 is the December 2020 daughter of BCII MLA Next Up 015. A December 2022 bull calf sired by S A V Bismarck 5682 completes the winning duo.
JBS Magic Man 872 360 was named grand champion steer. The March 2022 son of JBS Magic Man is owned by Reagan Claussen, Walcott, Iowa.
Colby Bacon, Manson, Iowa, led Jensen Mr Bubbles 249 FAF to reserve grand champion steer. He is a March 2022 son of DAJS AH The Illusionist 438.
Jensen Rocky 253 of FAF won grand champion bred-and-owned steer and is owned by Callie Jensen, Plainfield, Iowa. He is the March 2022 son of STAG Good Times 201 ET.
Kerrigan Mobley led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Mobley Weigh Up M286 is the January 2022 son of Mobleys Weigh Up M072.
Elery Hinrichsen, Williamsburg, Iowa, showed the grand champion female in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Hinrichsen Lady 230 is the April 2022 daughter of 44 Maverick 9252.
Eliza Patchin, Mitchellville, Iowa, led the reserve grand champion female in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. JM Ruby Growth Fund 580-M186 is the September 2021 daughter of Deer Valley Growth Fund.
