AMERICAN ANGUS ASSOCIATION - THE BUSINESS BREED

New Angus University Webinar explains AHIR’s Inventory Reporting program

Enrollment for primarily spring-calving operations runs through January 15, 2026.

November 24, 2025

Inventory Reporting is a whole herd reporting program that allows producers, like you, to leverage complete herd data to better track performance, improve EPD accuracy, better communicate the value of your cattle to your customers and ensure every female gets the credit she deserves.

Enrolled breeders gain access to additional reports on their cattle while also contributing to the creation and improvement of selection tools offered by the American Angus Association.

Build a Better Breed Together

One such tool is the new Functional Longevity (FL) EPD which was released in May 2025. The FL EPD characterizes a female’s ability to stay in the herd and produce year over year and was built thanks to the commitment to whole herd reporting made by Angus breeders participating in the Inventory Reporting program.

Enroll & Put Your Data to Work

Join the effort to improve maternal selection tools and reap the benefits of the Inventory Reporting program during one of two enrollment periods each year. For those who primarily calve in the spring, annual enrollment is open Nov. 1 through January 15. Those who calve mainly in the fall should look to enroll between May 1 and July 15 each year.

Instead of paying $3 per calf, Inventory Reporting herds pay $2 per female annually and can submit her calf’s records as part of that fee. To get started, new herds will need to update their herd inventory by marking females active or inactive using the wizard on the home page of AAA Login.

Re-enrolling herds will need to complete records on all females for 2024 and can do so through Login.

Inventory Reporting is also the first step towards earning Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR’s) newest recognition, Data Driven Herd. Members can learn more about the new program in AHIR’s Data Initiatives section of Angus.org.
