Grand Champion Carcass Steer
Ty Mogck, Olivet, S.D., left, won grand champion carcass steer, and Claire Caldwell, Parker, Kan., right, won reserve grand champion carcass steer at the Carcass Steer Contest at the 2022 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), July 2-9 in Kansas City, Mo. The grand champion steer had a hot-carcass weight of 845 lbs., and graded high-Prime with a 2.3 yield grade. The reserve grand champion steer had a hot-carcass weight of 829 lbs., and graded low-Prime with a 2.8 yield grade. Photos by Pearl's Pics.

The grand champion bred-and-owned steer had a hot-carcass weight of 812 lbs., and graded low-Prime with a 3.1 yield grade.
