Ranchers’ Rendezvous – A Night to Remember

Tom and Lois Ames of Spruce Mountain hosted Angus Foundation event raising over $100,000.

Angus enthusiasts from around the country gathered for the 2020 Ranchers’ Rendezvous on Jan. 16, 2020, at the Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado. The evening of fun and philanthropy raised more than $100,000 to benefit the Angus Foundation mission of education, youth and research.

For an industry whose community is known for long hours and few days off, one thing is for sure – when there is a cause to support or an occasion to celebrate, the Business Breed knows how to come together. The event was hosted by Tom and Lois Ames and family, known far and wide for their generosity and hospitality. Hundreds of Angus breeders, industry partners and friends from across the country gathered at the rustic event center tucked in the Rocky Mountains.

“Thank you to Tom and Lois Ames, their family and the Spruce Mountain staff for hosting an exceptional event,” said Thomas Marten, Angus Foundation executive director. “We are so grateful for an evening of fellowship and fun with the Angus family to support the Angus Foundation and it’s all possible thanks to out hosts, donors and volunteers.”

At the event, the elite Spruce Mountain Ranch breeding program offered a high-quality set of females, in addition to auctioning off donated lots, including a travel experience package to Hawaii, western style clothing and jewelry, and original art, to name a few. All the donated items’ proceeds will benefit the Angus Foundation and its mission of education, youth and research.

“Thanks to our generous donors, the Ranchers’ Rendezvous was a huge success for the Angus Foundation,” said Rod Schoenbine, Angus Foundation director of development. “The generosity of our industry is second to none and will prove beneficial to Angus Foundation supported programs. A special thanks to Julie French, Wynn Dalton and all Angus Association staff who assisted with the event.”

Since 1998, the Angus Foundation has awarded more than $3.5 million in undergraduate and graduate scholarships. For more information about the Angus Foundation or scholarships, visit AngusFoundation.org.
