Junior Angus Winners Named at 2023 North American
Junior Angus exhibitors led 234 entries at the 2023 North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) Junior Angus Heifer Show, Nov. 12 in Louisville, Ky. Andy Musgrave, Pittsfield, Ill., evaluated the 189 owned females and 45 bred-and-owned females before naming champions.
Paige Lemenager, Hudson, Ill., led the grand champion bred-and-owned female. Lemenager Proven Queen K24 is the June 2022 daughter of PVF Marvel 9185. She first won intermediate champion – division 2.
Deatsman SA Eventress 123-62 won reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. Collin Deatsman, Leesburg, Ind., owns the September 2022 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838. She first claimed senior calf champion – division 2.
Mercedes Ferree, Sullivan, Ind., led the grand champion owned female. Gohr Saras Dream 2020 is a February 2022 daughter of PVF Insight 0129 and first claimed junior champion – division 2.
Core Annie Lu 24K 230K claimed the reserve grand champion owned female. Braylen Schaeffer, Hagerstown, Ind., owns the January 2022 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838 who first won reserve junior champion – division 2.
