Champions selected at 2023 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show
Junior Angus exhibitors led 187 entries at the 2023 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show, June 23-24 in Lebanon, Tenn. Mark McClintock, San Angelo, Texas, evaluated the 94 owned females, 46 bred-and-owned females, 12 bred-and-owned bulls, six steers, and four cow-calf pairs. Jeremy Leister, Stillwater, Okla., evaluated the 25 phenotype and genotype females.
Car Don Captain Morgan 165 claimed grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors after first claiming junior champion. Bryce Hofing, Coatesville, Ind., owns the January 2022 son of Gateway Follow Me F163.
Allison Davis, Shelbyville, Tenn., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. AED Davidson 231K is an October 2022 son of Stevenson Turning Point. He first won senior calf champion.
CCW Lady Ash 3022 was named grand champion owned female. Rylee Stratton, Appomattox, Va., owns the March 2022 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153. She first won late junior champion.
M C Blackcap 1077 earned reserve grand champion owned female honors after first winning senior champion. Kadyn Harris, Staunton, Va., owns the October 2021 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077.
Andrew Meier, Clinton, Tenn., led the grand champion bred-and-owned female. 3ACES Shadoe 9211 is a September 2021 daughter of GCC Money Earned 852E ET. She first won senior champion.
PVF Blackbird 2061 was named reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning junior champion. Ashton Dillow, Villa Ridge, Ill., owns the April 2022 daughter of STAG Good Times 201 ET.
Allison Davis exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. AED Rita 037H is a December 2020 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077. Her calf is as October 2022 son sired by Stevenson Turning Point.
Cheyenne Walker, Toney, Ala., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. SKW Cheyenne Rita Wix 018 is a September 2020 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153. Her calf is an October 2022 bull sired by Square B Atlantis 8060.
Remi Gardner, Paris, Tenn., led the grand champion steer. MLA Alpha 190 is an April 2022 son of Collison Alpha 028.
Emily Jeffries, Canmer, Ky., owns the reserve grand champion steer. R & K Pablo 12 is an April 2022 son of Colburn Primo 5153.
Brooke Davis, Belmont, Wis., showed the grand champion female in phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Marda Asti 220 is the December 2021 daughter of Ellingson Three Rivers 8062 and first won division 4 champion.
Brooke Davis also led the reserve grand champion female in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Ingram Blackcap 2005 is the January 2022 daughter of Linz Exemplify 71124. She first claimed reserve division 3 champion.
