Winners Selected at Illinois Junior Field Day
Illinois junior Angus members led 121 entries at the 2022 Illinois Junior Angus Association Field Day, June 4 in Bloomington, Ill. Jared Boyert, Pleasantville, Iowa, evaluated 75 owned females, 30 bred-and-owned females, eight steers, three cow-calf pairs, and five bred-and-owned bulls before choosing champions.
4/B Miss Forever Lady J57 claimed supreme champion overall and grand champion owned female honors. Paige Lemenager, Hudson, Ill., owns the March 2021 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838. She first won late junior champion.
Kyle Eathington, Avon, Ill., led the reserve grand champion owned female. PVF Missie
1123 is a September 2021 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838. She first won senior calf champion.
Schafers Breakin Da Bank 111 won grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Eric Schafer, Owaneco, Ill., owns the February 2021 son of FCF Leverage 641. He first won junior champion.
Paige Lemenager led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull after first winning senior calf champion. Lemenager Fugitive J75 is a September 2021 son of Silveiras Style 9303.
HTF LC Erica 2131 was named grand champion bred-and-owned female after winning junior champion. Ashlyn Mool, Lexington, Ill., owns the April 2021 daughter of Top Line Sensational 9001.
Dameron Primrose 1166 won reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. Jack Dameron, Towanda, Ill., owns the September 2021 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077. She first won senior calf champion.
PVF Blackbird 0213 won grand champion cow-calf pair. Ashlyn Mool owns the February 2020 daughter of Dameron First Class. A February 2022 heifer calf sired by GCC Gold Standard X615 is at side.
Emily Kiesewetter, Farmington, Ill., led the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Kramers Lady 065 is an April 2020 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077. Her calf is a March 2022 heifer sired by K A Checkmate 045.
Cheyenne Handsaker, Pearl City, Ill., led the grand champion steer. Shore Acres Rip 2101 is a March 2021 son of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838.
B & J Blacklist 1801 was named reserve grand champion steer. Kyle Eathington, Avon, Ill., owns the March 2021 son of PVF Blacklist 7077.
