Champions selected at 2022 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show
Junior Angus exhibitors led 208 entries at the 2022 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show, June 17-18 in Chatham, Va. Brigham Stewart, Washington, Kan., evaluated the 106 owned females, 35 bred-and-owned females, 10 bred-and-owned bulls, 22 steers, and seven cow-calf pairs. Lake Elliott, Adams, Tenn., evaluated the 28 Phenotype and Genotype females.
M C 24 Karat 1026 claimed grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors after first claiming junior champion. Zach McCall, Greenville, Va., owns the March 2021 son of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838.
Madison Stratton, Appomattox, Va., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. EGF Turning Point 102 is a January 2021 son of Stevenson Turning Point. He first won reserve junior champion.
Maplecrest SS GF Phyllis 1080 was named grand champion owned female. Sadie Poole, Staunton, Va., owns the April 2021 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077. She first won late junior champion.
Genflo Coor Blackbird 421 earned reserve grand champion owned female honors after first winning reserve late junior champion. Sydney Sanders, Leesburg, Ohio, owns the March 2021 daughter of TGM Compton 1738.
Allison Davis, Shelbyville, Tenn., led the grand champion bred-and-owned female. AED Rita 037H is a December 2020 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077. She first won senior champion.
Clarkboys Sandy 0180 was named reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning senior calf champion. Suter Clark, Gretna, Va., owns the October 2021 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838.
Madison Stratton, Appomattox, Va., exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. Snyders CCW Proven Queen 214 is a February 2019 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153. Her calf is a March 2022 daughter sired by SCC SCH 24 Karat 838.
J. Gordon Clark, Gretna, Va., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Seldom Rest Pin Up Gal 0030 is a February 2020 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153. Her calf is a March 2022 heifer sired by G A R Home Town.
Suter Clark, Gretna, Va., led the grand champion steer. BSF Geico Man 2130 is an April 2021 son of BSF Geico 1905.
Blair Heath, Cooksville, Md., owns the reserve grand champion steer. Harkers Conkey J2 is a February 2021 son of Plainview Lutton E102.
Ellie Kidwell, Walhonding, Ohio, showed the grand champion female in phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Maplecrest Eva 1239 is the September 2021 daughter of G A R Kansas and first won division 1 champion.
Anne Dameron, Towanda, Ill., led the reserve grand champion female in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. DPL Sandy 1595 is the September 2021 daughter of Deer Valley Growth Fund. She first claimed reserve division 1 champion.
