Winners Selected at Illinois Junior Field Day
Illinois junior Angus members led 153 entries at the 2021 Illinois Junior Angus Association Field Day, June 5 in Bloomington, Ill. Brady Jensen, Brookings, S.D., evaluated 97 owned females, 42 bred-and-owned females, six steers, two cow-calf pairs, and six bred-and-owned bulls before choosing champions.
PVF Missie 0304 claimed grand champion owned female honors. Emma Eathington, Avon, Ill., owns the February 2020 daughter of PVF The Natural 7042. She first won early junior champion.
Coehen Kirchner, Leaf River, Ill., led the reserve grand champion owned female. Henning BCII Sandy 0010 is a March 2020 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838. She first won late junior champion.
Dameron FR Point Guard grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Max Dameron, Towanda, Ill., owns the October 2020 son of Stevenson Turning Point. He first won senior calf champion.
Adam Miller, Gridley, Ill., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull after first winning intermediate champion. PVF Thunderbolt 0111 is a June 2020 son of PVF Blacklist 7077.
Dameron Primrose 0186 was named grand champion bred-and-owned female after winning senior calf champion. Jack Dameron, Towanda, Ill., owns the October 2020 daughter of Conley Express 7211.
PVF Blackbird 0207 won reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. Amelia Miller, Gridley, Ill., owns the January 2020 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077. She first won junior champion.
S&R Emma J836 won grand champion cow-calf pair. Emily Kiesewetter, Farmington, Ill., owns the April 2018 daughter of Chestnut Undisputed GLM. A March 2021 bull calf sired by S&R Stability J824 is at side.
Holly Marsh, Earlville, Ill., led the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Collison Georgina 949 is a February 2019 daughter of S&R Roundtable J328. Her calf is a March 2021 bull sired by S A V Rainfall 6846.
Charlee Jones, Gridley, Ill., led the grand champion steer. Bushs Wayne is an April 2020 son of Jacs Rare Find 6503.
KL Priority K006 was named reserve grand champion steer. Jared Bressner, Graymont, Ill., owns the March 2020 son of PVF Priority 6231.
