Give & Sustain: Angus Day of Giving

By Jessica Hartman | Angus Foundation

The Angus Foundation invites Angus breeders to become a part of sustaining the Angus Legacy by giving.

The Angus Foundation will hold its 4th Annual Day of Giving on May 17. On this day in 1873, George Grant brought the first Angus bulls to America.

Each year, we celebrate the impact of the Angus breed by asking members to contribute to the Angus Foundation’s mission of supporting education, youth, and research. In 2023, the Angus Foundation asked each member to give $150 to honor the 150-year anniversary of Grant’s dream being realized.

As part of the new Legacy Sustaining Fund, Angus Foundation is asking every member to continue that contribution by making a recurring gift of $150 each year or $12.50 each month to help build long-term, sustained support for the next 150 years.

“With combined gifts of the same amount each year from thousands of members we can continue building the Angus legacy by advancing education, youth, and research,” says Jaclyn Boester, executive director of the Angus Foundation. “Whether you own two cows or 200 cows, it is an affordable way to contribute to the future of the Angus breed.”

The Angus Foundation invites everyone in the Angus family to take part and share their Angus impact stories using #AngusDay on social media. Answer the question: “Who is Your George Grant? Who encouraged you, mentored you, or influenced your success? Support the Legacy Sustaining Fund in honor or memory of the person who brought Angus to you!”

Donation options are available on the Give page at Donors can also mail a check with “Angus Day of Giving” in the memo line to count towards the annual fund drive totals.

Gifts made on Angus Day of Giving will be designated to the Angus Fund which provides unrestricted support to meet the breed’s greatest needs. The Angus Fund helps underwrite youth leadership programs such as the NJAA Board of Directors and the LEAD and Raising the Bar Conferences. It also provides educational resources for producers through Angus University and experiences like Beef Leaders Institute and answers questions to advance the Angus breed through groundbreaking research.

Give on Angus Day of Giving and your contribution will truly be limitless – in all the possibilities it provides for the Angus legacy!
