Angus Champions Named at 2019 Florida State Fair

            Angus exhibitors led 134 entries at the 2019 Florida State Fair Angus Show, February 7 in Tampa, Fla. Brad McCurry, Mount Hope, Kan., evaluated the 95 females, 31 bulls and eight cow-calf pairs before selecting champions.

            Alvarez Style 1701 claimed grand champion bull honors. Alexa Miltner, Lacey Miltner and Jayden Pinkston, all of Dade City, Fla., own the September 2017 son of Silveiras Style 9303. He first won senior calf champion.

            Birge Farms Titus 423D won reserve grand champion bull. Lilly Larson, Okeechobee, Fla., owns the October 2016 son of S A V Brilliance 8077. He first won senior champion.

            Ryleigh Locke, Bronson, Fla., showed the grand champion female. LNL Sweet Sassafrasee 872 is a June 2018 daughter of PVF Insight 0129. She earlier won late junior calf champion.

            Larson owns the reserve grand champion female, LGL Lady Jewels 728. She’s an April 2017 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. She first won late junior champion.

            Davis Blackbird Blossom 3003 won grand champion cow-calf pair. Austin Alvarez, Dade City, Fla., owns the September 2013 daughter of Peak Dot Iron Mountain 932X. An October 2018 bull calf sired by Colburn Primo 5153 completes the winning pair.

            Laykin Williamson, Dade City, Fla., owns the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Champion Hill Blossom 8695 is a September 2014 daughter of S A V International 2020. A November 2018 heifer calf sired by HA Cowboy Up 5405 is at side.
