Angus Champions Named at 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show

            Angus enthusiasts led 143 entries at the 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show’s Angus Show, January 6 in Harrisburg, Pa. Ryan Rathmann, Lubbock, Texas, evaluated the 119 females, 22 bulls and two cow-calf pairs.

            LVS Brilliance 1305 was named grand champion bull. Savannah Levisay, Creston, Calif., and Matthew Mitchell, Reinholds, Pa., own the February 2013 son of S A V Brilliance 8077. He earlier won junior calf champion.

            Adalyn Heineman, New Freedom, Pa., owns the reserve grand champion bull. Rains Murphy MFR is a March 2012 son of Soo Line Motive 9016 and first won junior champion.

            Catherine Work, Smock, Pa., led the grand champion female. Champion Hill Shadoe 8193 is an April 2012 daughter of S A V Brilliance 8077 and first won junior champion.

            Rains Brite Charlie BrLoFD claimed reserve grand champion female. Dale Rains, Mercer, Pa., owns the February 2012 daughter of S A V Brilliance 8077. She first won reserve junior champion.

            Cherry Knoll Rosebud 030 claimed grand champion cow-calf pair. Matthew Mitchell, Reinholds, Pa., owns the April 2010 daughter of MCATL Reachout 836. An August 2013 heifer calf sired by Whitestone Martini Z154 completes the winning pair.

            Rikki Frailey, Reeders, Pa., showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. OH Princess Rose 031 is a March 2010 daughter of S A V Mandan 5664. A May 2013 daughter of RBF Coal Bank 8C29 is at side.
