Angus Champions Selected at 2013 Iowa State Fair
Angus entries competed for top honors at the 2013 Iowa State Fair Angus Show, August 13 in Des Moines, Iowa. Doug Satree, Montague, Texas, evaluated the 193 entries, which included 148 females, 37 bulls and eight cow-calf pairs.
T L F Comanche Moon claimed grand champion bull honors. Webster Farms, Walker Iowa, and Codee Schlipf, El Paso, Ill., own the April 2012 son of Duff Hobart 8302. He first claimed junior champion.
Schroeder Hugo 3412 was named reserve grand champion bull. Drew Schroeder, Tipton, Iowa; Dan Werthmann, Durant, Iowa; and Allan and Pat Werthmann, Stockton, Iowa, own the March 2012 son of S A V Brilliance 8077 that earlier won reserve junior champion.
PVF Missie 2078 captured grand champion female and junior champion for Jordan Johnson, Fort Dodge, Iowa. She’s a March 2012 daughter of S A V Iron Mountain 8066.
Haley Greiman, Perry, Iowa, claimed reserve grand champion female. Grmn Ericas Belle is a January 2012 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682 and first won reserve junior champion.
Wesly Johnson, Pipestone, Minn., claimed the grand champion cow-calf pair. Ecr Beauty 101 is an April 2011 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. A February 2013 bull calf sired by VAR Rocky 80029 completes the winning pair.
David Kiesewetter, Letts, Iowa, showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Birks Forever Lady 21 is a January 2011 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. A February 2013 bull calf sired by Connealy Consensus 7229 is at side.
