Champions Selected at All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity ROV Show

 

            Angus breeders led 100 entries at the 2010 All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity Roll of Victory (ROV) Show, Aug. 1 in Louisville, Ky. Rondel Gillenwater, Finley, Okla., evaluated 76 females, 17 bulls, and seven cow-calf pairs before choosing the winners.

            Champion Hill Geogina 72561 was named grand champion female. Mandy Richardson, Louisa, Va., owns the March 2009 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. She first won junior champion.

            Bells Angus, Irvington, Ky., led the reserve grand champion female after winning senior calf champion. Bells Delia 929 is a December 2009 daughter of Bells Target 705. 

            Gambles Emulation 9529 earned grand champion bull honors. Holly Gamble, Clinton, Tenn., owns the September 2009 son of N Bar Emulation EXT. He first won senior calf champion.

            Check Mate was selected as the reserve grand champion bull. Katrina Frey, Quarryville, Pa., and Cherry Knoll Farm Inc., West Grove, Pa., own the September 2008 son of Connealy Danny Boy. He first won senior champion.

            S A V Emblynette 8035 was named supreme champion and grand champion cow-calf pair. Blake Boyd, Mayslick, Ky., owns the February 2008 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. A February 2010 bull calf sired by Boyd New Day 8005 completed the pair.

            Callie Smith, Lebanon, Tenn., led the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. C Q S Lady Betty 3207 is a March 2007 daughter of S A V Prairie Knight 5666. Her calf is a May 2010 bull sired by C Q S New Day EXT 1177.
