Angus
Cattle and YouTube: 300,000 Views and Counting
American Angus
AssociationÕs YouTube channel achieved a significant milestone this week:
300,000 total views.
YouTube, a social
media website where Internet users can upload and share videos, is playing an
increasingly influential role for both pro- and anti-agricultural groups.
The Association
has developed its YouTube presence into an important vehicle for advancing
agricultureÕs positive story to both rural and urban Internet users.
Currently, the
Angus channel is receiving between 700 and 1,000 views per day — up
significantly from last yearÕs 250 views per day.
ÒRight now, our
YouTube channel allows us to share our story with people around the world,Ó
says Eric Grant, Association director of public relations. ÒIn addition to our
accelerating presence on nationwide television, we are now reaching a very wide
audience every hour of every day through our use of YouTube. Not only has it
allowed us to promote the Angus breed, but also inform our members and others
about Association programs and services.Ó
Several newly
posted videos can be viewed on www.angus.org,
the AssociationÕs website. To locate them on YouTube, visit www.youtube.com, and use the search terms ÒI
Am Angus.Ó
The American
Angus Association serves nearly 30,000 members across the United States and
Canada. It provides programs and services to farmers, ranchers and others who
rely on the power of Angus to produce quality genetics for the beef industry
and quality beef for consumers.
