Angus Champions Named at 2018 Missouri State Fair
Exhibitors led 215 entries at the 2018 Missouri State Fair Angus Show, August 10 in Sedalia, Mo. Kevin Jensen, Courtland, Kan., evaluated the 165 females, 42 bulls and eight cow-calf pairs before selecting champions.
SydGen Big Branch 6653 claimed grand champion and senior champion bull honors. Kris Graupman, Palmyra, Mo., and Sydenstricker Genetics Inc., Mexico, Mo., own the September 2016 son of BCA Jack Black 4112.
Juliette Mead, Barnett, Mo., owns the reserve grand champion bull. Mead Intuition R497 is a March 2017 son of PVF Insight 0129. He earlier won junior champion.
Wallace Elsiemere 6129 captured grand champion female for AM Livestock, Springfield, Mo. The November 2016 daughter of GCC Business Elite first won senior champion.
Garrett Schuering, Thompson, Mo., showed the reserve grand champion female. Richardson Princess 7602 is an October 2017 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153 and first won senior calf champion.
Hillard Frontier Gal 606 was named grand champion cow-calf pair. Olivia Gerloff, Bland, Mo., owns the March 2016 daughter of Dameron First Impression. An April 2018 heifer calf sired by PVF Insight 0129 completes the winning pair.
Jera Pipkin, Stillwater, Okla., owns the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Cherry Knoll Lady 1467 is a September 2014 daughter of EXG RS First Rate S903 R3. A January 2018 heifer calf sired by PVF Insight 0129 completes the pair.
