Winners Selected at Illinois Junior Field Day
Illinois junior Angus members led 177 entries at the 2015 Illinois Junior Angus Association Field Day, June 6 in Bloomington, Ill. Brigham Stewart, Washington, Kan., evaluated 103 owned females, 49 bred-and-owned females, 16 steers, two cow-calf pairs, and seven bred-and-owned bulls before choosing champions.
Dameron C-5 Cheyenne 4131 claimed grand champion owned female honors. Emily Brooks, Prophetstown, Ill., owns the April 2014 daughter of Dameron First Class. She first won late junior champion.
Taylor Adcock, Moweaqua, Ill., led the reserve grand champion owned female. FCF Proven Queen 433 is a May 2014 daughter of Dameron First Class. She first won intermediate champion.
DDA Touch of Class 1401 won grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Chase Anderson, Chrisman, Ill., owns the January 2014 son of Silveiras Style 9303. He first won junior champion.
Lizzie Schafer, Owaneco, Ill., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull after first winning senior calf champion. Schafers Classic Celebrity is a December 2014 son of Dameron C-5 American Classic.
DDA Northern Miss 1343 was named supreme champion and grand champion bred-and-owned female after winning senior champion. Chase Anderson owns the September 2013 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303.
CLA Missie 139 won reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female. Keith Pezanoski, Peru, Ill., owns the November 2013 daughter of EXAR First Class 1421B. She first won reserve senior champion.
Olivia Wilson, Ogden, Ill., led the grand champion cow-calf pair. W L Forever Lady A1 is a January 2013 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. Her calf is a January 2015 bull calf sired by Connealy In Sure 8524.
Henkel Eventress Booots H321 won reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Kate Henkel, El Paso, Ill., owns the March 2011 daughter of Rundles Net Worth R189. An April 2015 heifer calf sired by WAF Boom 149 is at side.
Adam Miller, Gridley, Ill., led the grand champion steer. PVF Priority 4089 is a March 2014 son of C&C Priority 1428B EXAR.
Lemenager DOC B55 was named reserve grand champion steer. Grace Lemenager, Fairbury, Ill., owns the May 2014 son of EXAR First Class 1421B.
