Texas Juniors Parade Champions at State Show

            Angus youth led 179 entries at the 2017 Texas Junior Angus Association State Show, June 10-11 in Belton, Texas. Kyle Perez, Nara Visa, N.M., evaluated the 112 owned females, 32 bred-and-owned females, 16 bred-and-owned bulls, 14 cow-calf pairs, and five steers before selecting champions.

            GEYE Ab’s Heavy Si G620 claimed the grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Abby Geye, Rising Star, Texas, owns the November 2016 bull sired by Daines Heavy Si 57Z.

            Reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors went to BA Nighttrain 1304D. Brooke Adams, Terrell, Texas, owns the June 2016 son of Buchanan’s Night Train.

            EXAR Winnie 0336 was named grand champion owned female after capturing the junior champion title. Kaylan Kiser, Proctor, Texas, owns the February 2016 daughter of S&R Roundtable J328.

            EXAR Frontier Gal 0626 claimed reserve grand champion owned female honors. The September 2016 daughter of PVF Insight 0129 is owned by Brayden DeBorde, Bardwell, Texas. She first won calf champion.

            Stuart Lastovica, Salado, Texas, led LAF Miss Brilliant 6122 to the grand champion bred-and-owned female title. The April 2016 daughter of Dameron C-5 Northern Star first won junior champion.

            BA Miss First Look 35D was selected as reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning calf champion. Brooke Adams, Terrell, Texas, owns the September 2016 daughter of Dameron First Class.

            Abby Geye, Rising Star, Texas, exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. Northline Betty Boop 313C is an April 2015 daughter of DAJS Shockwave 612. An April 2017 heifer calf sired by SAC Conversation completes the winning pair.

            L A F Miss Princess 589 claimed reserve grand champion cow-calf pair honors. Stuart Lastovica owns the May 2015 daughter of Dameron 1^st Class 176. Her calf is a May 2017 daughter of J&J Avant Garde 211.

            LLJ Classen 99D was named grand champion steer. Brooke Adams owns the October 2016 son of EXAR Classen 1422B.

            Emma Nowotny, New Braunfels, Texas, led the reserve grand champion steer. EGN Mr X 6509 is a May 2016 daughter of EXAR X-Man 3758B.
