Angus Champions Named at 2017 Mississippi State Fair

 

Mississippi Angus members led 105 entries at the 2017 Mississippi State Fair Angus Show, October 7 in Jackson, Miss. Glen Graves, Cleveland, Ala., evaluated the entries before naming winners.

Bethany White, Morton, Miss., showed the grand champion bull. Kiani 291 Brilliance 475 is a October 2015 son of Monogram Brilliance 2912.

J&J high Dollar 161 was named reserve grand champion bull and is owned by Loden Grissom, Mantachie, Miss. The March 2016 bull is the son of Gambles Safe Bet.

Curtin Forever Lady 5439 was named grand champion female. Jacob Gregg, Eagleville, Tenn., owns the September 2015 daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B.

EXAR Princess 0806 claimed reserve grand champion female honors. Morgan Riley, Chapel Hill, Tenn., owns the November 2016 daughter of Dameron Best In Class.

            Elizabeth Rone, Courtland, Miss., led the grand champion cow-calf pair. W A Ericas Blush is the January 2013 son of Dameron First Impression. A September 2017 heifer calf sired by W A Maxima 460 completes the winning pair.

            Harvey Miss Hy Spark 049 won reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Justin Milner and Walker Milner, both of Jackson, Miss., own the February 2011 daughter of Harveys New Direction 665. An August 2017 bull calf sired by Kiani T Rex 714 is at side.
